Service History

One of two LHD cars built by Ford
Former Ford development and promotional car
Super 1600 styling
Acquired and built by Alan Farmer of Pumabuild
Quaife ATB
Magnesium wheels
FIA-spec Sparco carbon seats
Alcon brakes
Full roll cage
Plumbed fire suppression
Ford Rallye Sport livery
Magazine featured
Spares package

This LHD example is one of just two left-hand-drive Racing Pumas constructed by Ford itself, originally as a development prototype before seeing service as a Ford Rallye Sport promotional vehicle dressed in the red, white and blue livery it still wears today. Beneath that livery sits genuine Super 1600 front wings and styling, including kevlar roof scoop, rear wing and front splitter.

It was subsequently acquired by Alan Farmer, the owner of Pumabuild, one of the UK's most respected Racing Puma preparation specialists, who built it into the dedicated track car it is today.

The execution reflects the level of expertise. Highlights include Sparco carbon bucket seats with racing harnesses, full blue roll cage, plumbed Zafco fire suppression system, a genuine Super 1600 carbon centre panel with race switches and starter button, and carbon door cards. Huge Alcon brakes supply the stopping power, while magnesium wheels and a Quaife ATB differential elevate a car already celebrated for its handling.

This car was featured in the motoring press during Farmer's tenure and tested at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, where its performance was measured against Ford's own DORF test car. It has since been in private collection ownership.

A spares package is available including nine wheels and tyres and a gearbox. With just 4,000 miles recorded and indoor storage throughout, the Ford Rallye Sport livery remains intact and presents well.

Given the history, the preparation and the story behind it, we'd rather tell you the rest over the phone.
