Service History

1977 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II
61,500 miles
Just five former keepers, in 49 years
Massive history
Walnut over London Tan
Absolutely unbelievable condition throughout, best on the market

This 1977 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Series II is a genuinely exceptional example, finished in Walnut with London Tan hide and Cumberland Stone carpets. The colour combination suits the car beautifully, but its condition is what sets it apart. At nearly five decades old, this car remains rust-free, beautifully presented and unusually correct, with paintwork, chrome and leather all surviving to a standard very few Silver Shadows can still match.

It has had just five former keepers from new, and the previous enthusiast owner found the car after a year-long search, buying it from a recognised Rolls-Royce specialist as the “best you could find”. The bodywork is superb, the chrome presents beautifully and the interior has the right gently aged richness without looking tired.

The paperwork supports the car just as well. The history file is unusually detailed, beginning with delivery by Mann Egerton & Co Ltd in November 1977 and continuing through recognised Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialists including AB Price, RR&B, Hayden Motor Services, Hillier Hill, Michael Powles and Royce Motor Services. More recently, it was serviced by The School Garage in October 2025 at 61,402 miles. The original book pack also remains with the car.

On the road, it drives beautifully. The Harvey-Bailey suspension conversion gives the car a more settled, composed feel without spoiling the fundamental character of a Silver Shadow, and the whole car has the reassuring feel of one which has been properly maintained.

There are cheaper Silver Shadows, but few with this combination of condition, provenance, ownership history and mechanical confidence. For anyone looking for a Series II to keep and enjoy rather than continually improve, this is a very special car.
