Vehicle Background

Service History

2000 Subaru Impreza WRX Type RA Limited in 74F Supersonic Blue. A highly sought-after example, this is number 337 of only 595 ever made. Imported to the UK in 2015, it has been meticulously maintained and benefits from an impressive documented history.

Designed as a lightweight, motorsport-focused version of the WRX, the Type RA Limited was the lightest of all factory Imprezas, weighing in at under 1200kg. It features reduced sound-deadening, no factory underseal, and an aluminium bonnet. This example retains its original factory paintwork and has been preserved in exceptional condition, having never been driven in the wet since arriving in the UK.

Factory options include RAYS TE07 16" x 7J wheels (unique to the MY00 Limited models), STi 4-pot front brakes, front and rear STi strut braces, and limited edition STi blue seats. A short-ratio 5-speed gearbox ensures rapid acceleration, while a Link G4+ ECU (safely mapped for 98RON fuel) improves engine management.

This car has also received several tasteful upgrades, including a full Prodrive exhaust, a Newage Impreza intercooler (~25% larger for improved cooling), and BC coilovers set to a sensible height.

Engine Rebuild:

Most significantly, a fully forged engine rebuild was carried out by Andy at Unit 8 Performance in April 2024.

This included Roger Clark Motorsport OMEGA pistons, H-beam conrods, RCM 11mm head studs, an upgraded oil pump, and Athena MLS head gaskets. All-new gaskets, seals, and fluids (Castrol 10w60) were used in the process, ensuring long-term durability. The build was completed with an itemised invoice and is capable of handling up to 500bhp, though it remains conservatively tuned to retain factory power.

Despite its age, this WRX Type RA Limited remains in remarkable condition. The underside has been preserved with Bilt Hamber Dynax UC clear wax coating, and the bodywork remains stunning, with only minor signs of use. A private registration (V33 LTD) is included, along with full import documentation, a Japanese history check, and mileage verification.
