Vehicle Background

Service History

Back in the early 2000s, the Ford ‘RS’ moniker had been missing since the demise of the last Escort to wear the badge – the RS Cosworth. The run-of-the-mill Mk1 Focus possessed delightful handling and provided the perfect base car for the legendary RS to return. At Opposite Stock, we think that the mk1 RS is one of the prettiest hot hatches ever made and – with values rising rapidly over the last 5 years – is headed firmly towards classic status.

The car we have here is a lovely, honest example of the marque, which has clearly been cherished by its previous keepers. These cars can suffer from horrendous rot issues, but this particular example has had that issue rectified with replacement sills on both sides, meaning the underside is remarkably rot-free.

A small fortune has been spent on this car in the form of some tasteful performance enhancements which have been fitted over the last decade. These include a full Mongoose stainless exhaust system with tubular manifold, forge actuator and recirculation valve, uprated airtec intercooler, 660cc injectors, uprated fuel pump, K&N gen 2 induction kit, and H&R lowering springs.

This, combined with a remap, means this car is now producing circa 340bhp, and performance is very impressive indeed. We aren’t usually a massive fan of modified cars here at Opposite Stock, but I must admit this one has impressed us – it’s a rocket ship! There is a box full of standard parts that will be supplied with the car, should the buyer wish to put it back to standard specification.

There is a folder full of old receipts for servicing dating back to when the car was new; although this is somewhat sporadic between 2012-2019, as the owner during that period serviced the car himself. However, we have managed to trace him and he assures us the car was serviced every 5000 miles during his ownership. The car will be supplied with a fresh cambelt service.

For further information or to arrange an appointment to view at our showroom in Berwick-upon-Tweed, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Part-ex welcome.

Opposite Stock is a brand-new business operating out of the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland and offering for sale the finest hand-picked modern classics.
