2020 Renault Megane Trophy-R

9,000 miles from new
Two owners, flawless condition
Full Renault service history
Front-end PPF
Continental SportContact 7s
CAE shifter, Powerflex mounts, uprated pads (originals included)
One of just 32 Trophy-Rs allocated to the UK, and one of only 500 built worldwide. This example has covered 9,000 miles from new with two owners, maintained exclusively by Renault throughout. The condition is as close to 'as new' as you could reasonably expect, and the car has clearly been cherished from day one.
Front-end PPF has been fitted, and the only modifications are a CAE shifter, Powerflex engine mounts, and uprated front brake pads. All original parts are supplied with the car for the next owner. It currently sits on Continental SportContact 7s all round.
The Trophy-R was Renault Sport's ultimate expression of the Megane RS. Around 130kg was stripped from the standard Trophy through an obsessive weight-saving programme: carbon-composite bonnet with NACA duct, carbon rear diffuser, deletion of rear seats, thinner glass, and a redesigned lightweight rear axle. The four-wheel steering system was also removed – partly for weight, partly because the engineers felt the car worked better without it.
What remained was the 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder producing 300bhp and 295lb ft, paired exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox and Torsen limited-slip differential. Öhlins adjustable dampers, Brembo brakes with bi-material discs, and an Akrapovič titanium exhaust were all standard. Sabelt bucket seats with harness provision completed the package. The result held the Nürburgring lap record for front-wheel-drive production cars at the time of its release.
Finding one in this condition is the challenge. Many Trophy-Rs have lived hard lives on track.
