This early 996 Carrera presents in the standout Pastel Yellow over Graphite Grey leather, specified with the genuine Porsche GT3 Aerokit and 18-inch split-rim BBS Sport Design alloys.
The condition of the car is a reflection of its cherished long-term ownership. Having been with its last custodian for 19 years, the interior in particular is a highlight, with the leather showing minimal ageing and the seat bolsters free of creases or wear marks. The exterior presents equally well, and the car drives with the transparency and balance that made the 996 such a landmark driver’s car.
Importantly, this is a cable-throttle, non-sunroof example from the early production run. With a mere 76,510 miles from new, it benefits from fabulous history.
The 3.4-litre variant is also considered more reliable than the later 3.6 fitted to the 996.2. The 3.4 has a dual-row IMS bearing alongside different piston coatings and a more effective cooling jacket, making it significantly less prone to scoring and piston slap. 3.4 cars are also 50kg lighter on average than later models, negating any on-paper performance advantage of the 3.6.
