Iris Blue over Blue Leather

We’re proud to present this exceptional 1996 Porsche 993 Carrera 4 manual with Varioram – a car that encapsulates everything we value in the final generation of air-cooled 911s. Renowned for its mechanical purity, enduring elegance, and bulletproof build quality, the 993 continues to hold its place as the most coveted 911 of the modern era.

This particular car has been in long-term enthusiast ownership for over 14 years and was cared for with an open chequebook approach. Finished in the rare and beautiful Iris Blue Metallic over Blue Leather, it’s one of the most tastefully specified 993s we’ve had at Opposite Stock; subtle, stylish and unmistakably special.

In 2011, the car underwent a glass-out respray by the highly regarded AC Taylor Coachworks in Glasgow, commissioned to tidy up minor stone chips and surface marks. The standard of work is excellent, and the car retains a factory-accurate finish that remains in superb condition today.

Driving it is every bit as rewarding as you'd hope. The chassis feels tight and communicative, and the steering remains one of the finest setups ever fitted to a 911. A stainless steel Dansk exhaust brings a deeper, more characterful note to the flat-six engine, subtly enhancing the experience without overpowering the 993's signature dry intake bark or adding any unwanted drone when grand touring.

Mechanically, this 993 wants for nothing. The service book features 16 stamps, all from Porsche main dealers or respected marque specialists. The most recent owner alone invested over £25,000 in maintenance with Geo. Morrison Porsche Specialists in Glasgow, a well known name in the enthusiast community.

Cosmetically, the car shows its honesty. There are a few light stone chips across the front end – but no signs of neglect. Instead, it tells the story of a car that has been driven, not stored, and enjoyed responsibly throughout its life.

Recent additions include a xenon headlight conversion, a new set of Michelin tyres, and all the correct accompanying items, including the original book pack, toolkit, and three keys.

This is a rare opportunity to own a highly original, well-documented, and exceptionally well-maintained 993. Cars of this calibre rarely come to market.
