The result is a car that punches well above its weight, with 231bhp and 370Nm sent to all four wheels via a six speed manual gearbox. The S1 is rapid point-to-point, composed on a wet B-road, and genuinely usable every day. It's a proper “in-the-know” car, one that flies under the radar but gets appreciative nods from fellow enthusiasts.

Audi only produced the S1 for a few years before discontinuing it, and values have held firm as a result. Well-specified, properly maintained examples like this one are becoming harder to find.
